GOAT Lab is a free daily basketball game about one simple, endlessly arguable question: who is the greatest at each part of the game? Across nine rounds you draft one player for each attribute — shooting, finishing, handles, passing, defense, rebounding, athleticism, basketball IQ, and height — pulling from different eras and teams to build a single player with no weak spots. The closer you get to a flawless build, the higher your score.
How it works
Every day there's a new Daily Challenge: the same draft for everyone, one attempt, ranked on a global leaderboard. Prefer to free-play? Classic shows you the ratings before you pick, while Blind hides them and asks you to trust your basketball knowledge. Build a streak, climb the ranks from Rookie to GOAT, chase a perfect 100, and share your roster with friends to see who really knows the game.
Free to play
GOAT Lab is free, and the whole game always will be — every mode, the Daily Challenge, the global leaderboard, streaks, scoring, and the whole rank system, with nothing important locked away. Everyone earns XP and climbs the 12 ranks from Rookie to GOAT, and everyone shows up on the all-time XP leaderboard. There's an optional one-time GOAT Pass for players who want some extra perks and boosts (a once-per-game ratings reveal in Blind & Daily, 25% bonus XP on every game, the full past-Daily archive to replay as practice, a gold-bordered rank badge that levels up through all 12 ranks on your name across every leaderboard and shared scorecard, your exact daily rank, deeper personal stats, post-game top-build reveals, and a trophy case of achievements to complete) and want to support a solo developer — but you never need it to play or compete.
Who makes GOAT Lab
GOAT Lab is built and run by Momentum Apps LLC, an independent studio making small, focused games and tools. It started as a passion project for basketball fans who love debating the greats, and it's developed and updated by a single developer who reads player feedback directly.
A note on the ratings
Player ratings in GOAT Lab are subjective, hand-tuned judgment calls made for the sake of a fun game — not official statistics. Reasonable fans will disagree, and that's the whole point. If you think a rating is wrong, we genuinely want to hear it.
